With his hand on her chest he gently moved her back to the bed. He let her fall back to the bed and then he walked out to the hallway. He closed the bedroom door and dropped to his knees with tears rolling down his face. It didn’t take long before he heard Abby clawing at the door from inside the room.

“I promise I will avenge your death. I won’t let your death go unpunished,” he said as he pressed his hand against the door.

He got back to his feet and walked away with the sound of Abby still filling the hallway. He walked downstairs and sat on the couch, he had never felt more emotionally or mentally drained in his entire life. Within a few minutes he had drifted off to sleep and drifted into nightmares that had become real life.
