Chapter 12

He devoured her lips as he walked to the bedroom. When he felt the edge of his bed hit his legs, he leaned her onto it and slid into her arms. “Chase.” He kissed her and she slid to the pillows. “Caroline,” he whispered as goosebumps burst onto her skin. He devoured her lips and she slid her shirt and hoodie off. “What am I gonna do with you,” she teased. “All yours.” That kiss intensified. Tripled. Heated beyond the point of boiling. His shirt and sweater slid to the floor with her jeans and his, her lacy lingerie and his boxers until both of them were so wrapped up in making love that neither of them cared about anything else. When he finally couldn’t take one more minute, his body gave into that heat, that warmth, that need. He leaned onto his back and she curled up against him. “Damn,” she said. “You okay,” he asked trying to calm his racing heart. “I want you Chase.” “I’m right here.” “It’s insane. It’s only been…” He kissed her. “It’s crazy. It feels like I’ve known you forever,” he said. She slid her arm around him and he pulled her tight to him. When he nodded off, she barely moved. Within a matter of a few minutes, she was asleep in the arms of the only man that she wanted. The only one that she’d ever wanted.

When he woke up at 4, she was still nestled into his arms. He smirked and kissed her neck then got up, getting changed into his workout clothes, put the other clothes into the laundry and headed downstairs with his phone and two bottles of water. He got on the treadmill, finished his run and kept going with his routine. When he went to get up from the weights to finish the workout, he saw Caroline watching in nothing but his tee. “You’re distracting me.” “Part of my plan.” He shook his head and got up, stretching out then walked over to her and kissed her. “I swear you have more workout equipment than a gym.” “Kind of.” “Chase.” “It’s either this or I’m at the gym at the practice field every morning.” “Okay. I guess I can handle that,” she teased. He walked over to her and kissed her again. “Breakfast?” “Sorta started on it,” she said. He walked into the kitchen and saw omelets, bacon, fruit and fresh juice. “I thought we could wait for the coffee until you were done your workout.” He kissed her and made her coffee for her. They ate and breakfast was even better. He cleaned up after, getting them each a mug of coffee and they had a little quiet time.

“How are we doin,” he asked. “Is it bad that I didn’t want to get up?” “That’s good. Feels more like home.” She smirked. “So, you have practice, then what?” “Dinner and taking advantage of my girl while she’s here.” “Didn’t your mom say she wanted me to come do dinner?” “I’ll call her on the way to practice.
