Let’s Make Some Money[1]

The next day, I was called in for questioning regarding the incident. After giving my testimony and seeing that my story matched Daniella’s, I was allowed to return. And like that, several days went by.

I had just finished class for the day and was about to move on to my next plan when I heard someone call my name.

“Senior Raven!”

I turned around. It was Daniella. Just the person I wanted to see. I stopped and waited for her to reach me. She soon arrived, panting like she had just run a marathon.

“Hello…huuu…senior…huuu”

“Hey,” I responded.

“I’ve been looking all over for you for the past three days. It was difficult finding which class you were in since I didn’t know your name.”

“I see.”

“I never got to say thank you the other day. You saved my life. Thank you.”

“I was only doing what I was assigned.”

“Even still, you weren’t obligated to protect me under such danger. So for that, thank you. If there’s anything you need, let me know. I’ll do everything in my power to help you.”

“Is that right?”

“Uh? Yes.”

“Great! I happen to need something.”

“Really?” she said with gleaming eyes.

I wondered why she seemed so excited by that. Probably because she’d get to repay her favor quickly?

“Yeah. I need to use your alchemy workshop.”

“Uhn? Are you an alchemist?”

“Well, not really. I’m just trying to make something.”

Daniella was a genius alchemist, a prodigy. She had invented quite a few potions and received awards at the Magic Academy’s annual competitions. Her talent was recognized even beyond the academy. She had a natural affinity for alchemical processes and could intuitively understand complex chemical reactions. At a young age, she had created a unique healing potion that could rapidly regenerate tissues without any side effects, earning her the nickname “The Healing Prodigy.”

“Alright,” Daniella said, her eyes still bright with excitement. “I’ll take you to my workshop. What are you planning to make?”

“It’s a special project,” I replied, keeping the details vague. “I’ll explain more when we get there.”

Her workshop was set up in a special area inside the academy grounds, a privilege granted both because of her father’s status and her exceptional contributions and talent in the field of alchemy.

When we arrived at the workshop, Daniella showed me around the well-equipped space, explaining the functions of various tools and equipment. She handed me a spare key, saying I could use it whenever I wanted to access the workshop.

“Is that okay?” I asked, hesitant. “I mean, won’t I see your ongoing projects?”

“It’s fine,” Daniella assured me with a smile. “I trust you.”

I chuckled softly. “Don’t trust people so easily.”

Daniella’s smile faltered slightly, but she nodded. “I understand.”

With that, I left Daniella’s workshop, it was time to move to the next plan.

The reason why I asked Daniella for access to her workshop was so I could make a potion. Two potions actually.
