Outside London, England

Knocker and Cara remained where they were until they were told to move on by a police officer. He came up to their Range Rover, and Cara rolled down the window. “What’s going on? Can we get through?”

The officer eyed them suspiciously before shaking his head. “No. You’ll have to go around.”

“What’s happened?” Knocker asked. “What’s with all the Bobbies?”

“Nothing to worry about. Just a police operation.”

“Is that why you shot the shit out of that lorry?”

“Just turn around, sir, and keep moving.”

He walked away, and Cara said, “Someone tipped them off about the lorry. But why?”

“There’s only one reason I can think of,” Knocker replied. “To take the focus off something else.”

“Yes, but what?”

As they continued to watch what was happening ahead of them, Knocker noticed the man in the suit who walked up to the police tape, flashed his identity, and was allowed to pass. The Brit said, “Looks like the intelligence services have arrived. Isn’t that Bancroft?”

“Looks like it. Let’s hope he can fix this.”
