THE INDWELLING GOD

The most glorious reality we get to experience is God Himself. Yes, I said experience, not just comprehend with our intellect. We have the capacity and the invitation to experience and commune with the Creator of the universe. The tragedy is very few people take the opportunity to commune and walk with God. Some, I would say, walk as Christian atheists; believing in God, but living as though He’s not there. “Christian atheism” can be played out in a person’s life in many ways, but primarily by disconnecting with the third person of the Trinity living inside them.

My goal is not just to make you aware of what we are not doing, but to also invite and inspire you to partake of the most glorious way to live: communing with God Himself!

If we get to commune with God, the question you may be asking is, how? How do we fellowship or commune with God? The answer is through the promised Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead. The Holy Spirit is who we commune with day to day and hour by hour. He is the One we speak to, listen to, are directed by, follow, and enjoy. He is the means by which we partake of all the glorious attributes of having a relationship with the Creator God living inside us.

My hunch is that you have some knowledge of the Holy Spirit. Knowing this, I invite you to honestly reflect and ask yourself, When was the last time I talked to Him? When was the last time I asked Him for direction in a decision, heard from Him or felt His presence? When was the last time I felt conviction or asked Him to help me walk out of sin? When was the last time I heard such powerful preaching that I felt His weighty presence? When was the last time I sat in quietness and heard His voice so audibly, I was undone for the rest of my day, or how about for the rest of my life? Shouldn’t this be our reality if the third Person of the Trinity lives inside of us and we commune with Him? Is communing with God a reality in your life? I present these questions, not to condemn, but to provoke us to greater intimacy than we currently experience.

VIEW OF GOD

After traveling to hundreds of cities around the world, I have seen many believers rally around the name of Jesus, but not many gather around the name of the Holy Spirit.
