Sweat poured down my face and into my eyes. I wiped my nanofabric sleeve over my eyes and prepared myself for the falling Colosseum headed my way. As I tensed, ready to act at a moment's notice, I quickly glanced around to see how everyone was faring. Sliver was helping any remaining civilians get out of the way of the falling Colosseum while Ultimatum and Avian pushed against the building's underside.

“Ultimatum! Are you okay? Don’t die on me, man!” Avian’s hoarse voice pinged out of my comm.

As I glanced up toward my friends, I didn’t hear a reply, but I watched as the top hero in the world strained up against the Colosseum with his sonic flares blasting fire from his palms.

"Hang in there, everyone!" I yelled into the comm. I didn't expect any replies, but I wanted them all to remember we were in this together.

A scream of unintelligible pain ripped through my head, and I recognized it as Avian's voice through the comm. He and Ultimatum were struggling to keep the Colosseum from pummeling into the city below.

“Come on, guys!" I encouraged them. “We need to land this thing slowly! Do what you can, and I’ll be in position to do what you can’t!”

Ultimatum groaned through the comm as his sonic bursts emitted less flame from his outstretched hands as his fatigue grew. “I can’t hold it much longer!”

I could only hope that the girls were handling the scorpions, snakes, and gas while we dealt with the collapsing building, but I had every amount of trust in them. They were some of the strongest, most brilliant people I had ever met.

“When you get closer to the ground, move out to the edges of the Colosseum until your feet can touch dirt! Then, let go and run!” I screamed into the comm, my throat hoarse from the yelling and the rising tension. “I’ll finish the landing.”

Avian nodded vigorously and slowly shifted back toward the outer edge without removing his hand from the building. Ultimatum did the same thing, but shimmed back to the opposite side from Avian. I hovered as steadily as possible, right at the center point of where the Colosseum would land.

The Colosseum crept closer and closer until…

I activated Quicksand. Time slowed to a literal crawl, and I put my hands on the Colosseum as it approached me, keeping it balanced as our forces connected with each other: an unstoppable object and an immovable force.

I cried out as my bones creaked and strained against the weight of the massive building now solely in my hands. I quickly poured more of my EXP into Strength. Quicksand would last for ten minutes, and I knew I would have to use all of it to push up against the Colosseum, counteracting as much of the force of gravity and built-up momentum as I could. Hopefully, by stopping it quickly and then letting it down, it would cause the least amount of destruction.

I gritted my teeth and felt like Atlas holding the Earth on my shoulders.
