CREATE YOUR 3D HABITS (DISCIPLINE, DRIVE, AND DETERMINATION)
Habits are the micro-actions we perform, in between the big actions that drive big results. The best approach isnât to simply eliminate unwanted behaviors but to replace them with new habits.
HERE ARE THREE HABITS TO SHIFT TOWARD OVER THE NEXT 90 DAYS:
1. START WITH DISCIPLINE
In the show âSurvivorâ, contestants must learn how to survive and thrive to win the reality TV show contest. Contestants immediately search for water, food, and shelter. However, fire becomes the first requirement in order to survive, since it is used to sanitize the water source and provide warmth at night and for cooking. Those contestants who prioritize the discovery of their fire source are always the most successful.
In leadership, we too must discover our fire source to survive and thrive. For the leader, the fire source is personal, daily disciplines.
Discipline is the daily spark in our leadership that ignites the fire of our habits. Those fires must be lit daily, and discipline provides the first step of energy.
Examples of Daily Discipline Habits:
Set a consistent sleep and rise time.
Make your bed in the morning. According to Navy Seal Admiral, William H. McRaven, âIf you want to change the world, start by making your bed in the morning.â
Schedule your daily workout, even if itâs just 20 minutes. Small 3° shifts, compounded over time, create extraordinary results.
