It wasn't more than a few hours before someone was sent into Mikas' room to tell him that Blue's apartment had been ransacked and there was no sign of him, or anyone for that matter, in the wreckage. Mikas hadn't needed the confirmation; he had already known that something had gone terribly wrong in the time he'd been away from Blue and Cade. But hearing that Blue's place had been ripped to pieces and he and Cade were nowhere to be found, pushed Mikas into action. He waited until the man who had come to deliver the news was gone before he gritted his teeth and slipped out of bed.

It was still agony to move, but he'd been through pain like this before. He'd had a run-in with Mira's brother once years ago that had left his face busted and his other arm broken from an unfortunate fall through a glass window. He breathed slowly and shallowly as he packed his meager belongings, the painkillers, and the few sheets of Halo from the drawer beside the bed.

Mikas knew that Ridge had done all that he would for him, and he wouldn't be missed if he left quietly. There was no reason for him to stay here any longer now-- Ridge had cut him off, and he worried about what was happening to Blue and Cade. Each moment he wasted lying around, could be another moment his friends were in danger. He had an idea of what might have happened. Before the raiding of the Pinnacle, Blue had told him he would have to get back to work after their little meet-up, but of course, that had never happened. He'd ended up skipping out on half a night of work, and Mikas knew how the business worked. Slights like that were never taken lightly, even with the excuse of a surprise raid.

Perhaps it was the adrenaline he could feel coursing through his system, or perhaps it was the idea of what might be done to Blue and Cade if he didn't somehow manage to find them, that allowed him to gather the strength to push his injuries to the back of his mind. Whatever it was, he doggedly made his way out of Ridge's warehouse and into the frigid night air. There were a few people lounging about in the main hall, and no one made a move to stop him, only watched him leave with apathetic gazes.

Mikas had awkwardly pulled on a coat before he left, but the night air seemed to seep through the thin material with ease and he was soon shivering, jaw clenched and teeth chattering painfully. His shoulder ached and he felt exposed, vulnerable, as he trudged his way through the familiar streets he'd been running since he was barely more than a kid. He'd never gone out injured before and he knew that he was easy game to anyone he might meet tonight. The more he thought about it, he wasn't even sure what he could do for Blue and Cade once he found them.
