HEEL OR THRUST KICK

Compared to the front snap kick, the thrust kick is slower but more powerful. Try to focus the strength of both legs and the body through the heel of the kicking foot.

To perform a heel kick, shift your weight to the nonkicking leg and bend that knee as though getting ready to jump. Lift the knee of the kicking leg and bend the toes back toward your body. Then, at the same time, thrust your raised heel toward the target and straighten the nonkicking leg. Keep your balance! The two legs must work together, and you must keep your balance in order to deliver a strong kick. As soon as the kick is finished, pull your foot back so that your opponent cannot grab it.

SIDE KICK

This is a very strong kick, but probably better used for tournaments and exercise (and showing off to your friends) rather than in real fights. It is dangerous to use in a fight because it leaves you unstable and almost completely open to attack.
