I slam my fist into the lad who is throwing punches my way. Skin connects with skin and I swear I hear a bone crack, but I don’t stop. I throw punch after punch, until I faintly hear someone screaming my name and my arms are pulled back.

The red fog starts to fade and I look down at the bloodied face of the young bloke who is in the ring with me. Serves him right, he knew what he was getting into when he got in the ring with me.

This has been my life since I came here to the Belfast chapter months ago. Since that night that Sabrina told me she was pregnant. Fucking pregnant with my kid. A fucking kid I didn’t want. No one will replace my Willow and I refuse to let it happen, so I ran, far a-fuck-away.

“Court, Jesus, man. Chill the feck out, will ya.” Fender says, yanking me out of the ring, while some of his boys tend to the half dead man on the canvas.

I shrug him off, grunting as I make my way out of the back building and through the clubhouse and up to my room. Stripping out of my sweaty joggers, I turn on the shower and climb under not caring about the temperature.

Resting my hands on the cold tile wall, the water heats up and helps soothe my old aching muscles and washes away the sweat that I just worked up in that fight.

My life has now become this meaningless journey. I sleep the day away, then wake up, drink myself into a stupor, get blowjobs when the tension gets too much or I fight.

My knuckles are just as raw and bloody as my heart.

Coming here was supposed to get my mind off Sabrina and my kid, but fuck me nothing has worked. No amount of fights, orgasms or alcohol has helped. The club took me in, with no hesitation, which I know is hard for Fender. That man has major trust issues with outsiders.

He is going through some major shit in his life also. His Old Lady, Sheena is dying from a cancer. Fender says she was diagnosed as terminal just three months ago, and she has been going down-hill gradually ever since.

The pain I know he is feeling is all too familiar to me and that’s when the drink comes in handy; it helps me to block out my own pain of losing Kirsty and Willow. But at the same time, the pain is fresh in my chest, because I have turned my back on the woman I know I can love and a child who is innocent in this fucked up world.

Washing my body and hair, I climb out, not bothering with a towel. Leaning on the sink I use one had to wipe over the mirror, wincing when I see my reflection.

I have a black eye forming, my eyebrow is split from the fight that just happened; fair play to the kid he got some good hits in.
