“Those dirty sons of bitches,” Shaklee said out loud.

The bigger question resounded in his mind: Why was it here? On Kramer’s desk.

It hurt to think about, but Shaklee could imagine many HRD employees polishing and updating their resumes, getting ready to jump from the sinking ship. Even without knowing much about them, Mad Origin Games would be intriguing for people in the gaming industry.

If Kramer had created this, why print it out? Why here where it could be discovered? Was everyone aware of his endeavors? Were they all endeavoring for the same thing?

Shaklee looked the paper over, wondering if there was more to it. He flipped it, then back.

Much smaller letters sat at the bottom corner. He pulled the paper close. A long sequence of numbers spaced randomly apart, but never more than three in a row—a period followed by a short letters and number combination.

He wasn’t sure what it meant but felt it could be significant. He would show Gallup. Gallup would know. He folded the paper, shoved it in his pocket, and realized his mug was gone.
