Packing

Jalapeno peppers are generally packed in carton boxes or baskets. They are generally packed loosely in 10 pound carton boxes. Large carton boxes may also be used if central dividers are used. Weight of a standard carton is 12–15 Kg. However caution is required not to use top icing on packed Jalapeno peppers as the ice may cause water spots on peppers.

Storage

Jalapenos may be stored in clean and transparent polybags in refrigerators for home uses. For industrial processing, cold storage up to 2 -5weeks is recommended. Jalapeno peppers have the same storage requirements as beans, cucumber, eggplant, bell peppers, and squash. Hence these vegetables may be stored together without detrimental effect.
