The battlefield stretched before me, a churning mass of steel, flesh, and magic. The dry ocean floor cracked beneath every desperate step, littered with corpses of the fallen. The ground beneath my boots was a wasteland of shattered coral and desiccated seabed stretching for miles. The air reeked of salt and decay, the remnants of an ocean ripped away by a god’s will. Jagged shells crunched underfoot as I strode forward, Emberbane humming in my grip with unspent power that had been slowly siphoning into it from my arcane hand. Around me, the battle raged—a chaotic mess of steel, fire, and divine fury. The gods' armies pushed hard, relentless as the tide that had once claimed this place. But our forces? A mess. A thousand small battles playing out with no cohesion, no unity. If we kept fighting like this, we’d be picked apart piece by piece.

I clenched my fists, my body thrumming with raw power. Time to fix that.

I inhaled deeply, drawing on the divine energy within me, and let it flow through my vocal cords. When I spoke, my voice roared across the battlefield, amplified by sheer force of will.

“WARRIORS OF BAMIXY! HEAR ME!”

The clash of swords, the screams, the howling of beasts—none of it stopped. My voice rumbled through the battlefield like rolling thunder, but I had no way of knowing if the right people were listening.

“We fight not as one army, but as scattered warbands! That ends NOW!” I swung Emberbane overhead, its edge gleaming with blood and fire. “Look around you! We have not lost! WHERE IS YOUR TEAMWORK!? If we stand together, we can CRUSH these gods and their scum! Follow YOUR ORDERS, hold the lines, and FIGHT!”

A massive explosion sent a shockwave through the field as a godborn warlock unleashed a volley of arcane fire. A battalion of mortal spearmen were caught in the blast, their charred bodies flung like dolls. I ground my teeth, watching as more skirmishes played out in isolation, warriors lost in their own desperate fights. No immediate shift. No sudden cohesion.

Damn it. Maybe they weren’t listening. Maybe it was too late to change the tide.

Then I saw them—my army. My beasts. My creations.

The malgin and magmaforged minotaur surged forward, obeying my words as though I had spoken to them directly. Kiv and Tiv, my branchlords, wrapped their long arms around divine warriors, dragging them down into the cracked seabed. My flying beasts took to the air, raking their talons across celestial ranks and sending them spiraling down in broken heaps. I even noticed the Thud, rolling itself like a fluffy ball of destruction through parties of vampires.

They had heard me. They had understood. And they would lead by example now.

The gods’ forces faltered, their confidence shaken as my creatures, followed slowly by the shallowkin forces, started to work together cohesively. Even as I watched, they started to overwhelm some of their smaller formations with calculated precision. The gap in our lines closed as more of my forces—those watching,
