Chapter 10
His palms were up in a gesture for me to calm down, but there was no way in hell I was calming down. Shit was happening that I had no answers for, and it didnât make any damn sense. I recently found out about realms and portals, and now I had Estrid, the imaginary friend, talking to me and showing up in a damn mirror.
âI want to tell you, I truly do, but again, if I say too much, it could fragment your mind,â Rune explained gently.
I shook my head quickly and did my own pathetic snarl, âRune, fucking tell me, or Iâll leave.â
A corner of his lip curled up at my comment. I would not be able to leave because of him stopping me, but I would still try.
âIâm one of the sons of Poseidon, a Greek god.â
It all made perfect sense now why he wouldnât tell me his last name when I asked but posted it on his profile. It hadnât made sense at the time. I didnât know jack about Greek gods or anything of the like, but I had at least heard of it a few times. Just didnât know their names.
So, did that mean Rune was a Greek god because of his father being Poseidon? If so, I totally shacked up with a god and lived to tell the tale. It made perfect sense if he were one. He had the body of one and was obviously blessed with a monster dick that would only make sense that a god would have.
His ocean eyes watched me carefully, as if I were about to bolt out of here. He said something about telling too much to where my mind would fragment, whatever the hell that meant. Maybe he truly saw me as weak and pathetic, and it just made me feel worse about myself.
âSo, does this mean youâre a god too?â I choked out.
His palms lowered to his sides, and he straightened to stand taller as if he were proud of the fact he was a god. âYes.â
I stumbled back as my knees gave out, but before I fell, he caught me and held me steady with his hands on my waist and pulled me against him to where I could feel every muscle on the front of his body. Even his bulge was pressed against me and felt semi-hard.
I swallowed hard and averted my eyes from his. How the hell was I supposed to date a god? But it was kind of nice that one was interested in me and calling me his. Wait. His dead lover must have been a goddess. Shit, this was getting worse. How the hell was I really supposed to live up to that?
âYour dead lover⦠she was a goddess, wasnât she?â I whispered nervously, then licked my dry lips.
His hands on my waist tightened slightly at my question but then loosened. âShe was.â
I looked back at him and furrowed my brows together as I tried to make sense of this.
