Bondi And Beyond
Sydney’s most famous beach is just the beginning; stretching south from Bondi is a chain of beaches, linked by a coastal walk that offers spectacular ocean panoramas. This route takes in rugged cliffs and pockets of subtropical forest, with plenty of opportunities to dive into the ocean along the way.
DISTANCE: 5.5km (3.5 miles)
TIME: A half-/full day
START: Bondi Beach
END: Coogee Beach
POINTS TO NOTE: This route can get very crowded, particularly on fine weekends, so tackling it on a weekday is recommended. If you prefer a shorter walk, the first section, to Bronte Beach, is just 1.5km (1 mile). Stop there for a coffee before returning the way you came. Whether you are doing the whole walk or just part of it, pack your swimming costume, drinking water, high-factor sunscreen and a hat. To get to Bondi from town, take bus 380, 382 or 333. If you are finishing the walk at Coogee, buses 372, 373 and 374 will take you back to town.
