DEEP WATER RE-ENTRY
One of the best things about inflatable kayaks is theyâre quite hard to fall out of and very easy to re-enter, even from deep water. But IK re-entry is something you want to be sure you can do alone before you have to do it.
Youâve fallen out and your boat is now upside down. Hopefully you held on to the paddle; if not, locate it and if itâs windy you need to think fast: a light and buoyant IK can be blown away faster than you can swim after it. Once holding on to the boat and paddle, if necessary, take a moment for your breathing to restabilise from the cold-water shock.
