“Do you know what you need?” It’s Sunday, and Jude is on day two of taking care of Grace and me. However, I believe I’m almost human today.

He had Grace down for her nap; it’s only nine in the morning, and he’s already digging into a bag of chips. Sunshine and his chips. I internally laugh at his obsession.

Thank goodness, Grace is no longer puking, and the BRAT diet Mrs. C told us about has worked wonders.

“So, what is it you think I need?” I ask, nabbing the remote from him and changing it from his beloved Friends marathon.

“Now, that is just cruel, Gus.” He points to the television. “But I won’t hold it against you. I think a nice lavender bath would do wonders for you.”

“Me in a bathtub? Have you seen me?”

He moves his eyes up and down while I sit on the couch. “Yeah, I think I’ve seen you. I mean, we live together.”

I continue with my concerns about bath time and how it won’t work. “So, the tub upstairs won’t fit me. And I must have been five the last time I had a bath.”

“You didn’t let me finish; always with your glass is half empty attitude.” For a man who’s just a tad over five feet and wears lots of pink, he’s very masculine, and every attribute about him only makes him more desirable. “I have a soaker tub. Let me draw you a bath, and you can indulge in some pampering, Gus.”

“You’re giving me a bath?” I ask, my words are delivered as a flirt, and it causes a flush of pink to cover his face.

“Do you want me to?” he asks as if he’s calling my bluff.

“I was kidding, Sunshine.” However, I wasn’t expecting his retort. I may have liked it; I’m not sure. Most likely, yes.

“Maybe next time, you shouldn’t offer something you can’t follow through on.” He’s not all smiles, squaring his body with mine. He turns his demeanor on a dime. “Okay, give me a second, Gus, and I’ll get your bath drawn.”

He’s out of the room, leaving his chips behind, and I’m left dizzy; this time it’s not because of vertigo.

In less than five minutes, he calls me into his bedroom. I’ve never been in his room, and I enter with apprehension.

His room is every bit of what I’d guess for Jude. His bedspread is fuchsia, with colorful abstract art on the wall. The furniture, like mine, has to be Tristan and Cade’s because the colors are muted. A large fluffy white fur rug is on the floor of dark wood. On the wall over the bed is neon pink letters that read, get your pink on. This man surprises me more and more as his layers are peeled back.

“Gus, you coming?” he calls, then laughs at his words.

“Yeah, just admiring your room,” I call back.

I’ve done nothing to my room. It shows absolutely none of my personality, but my character is bland in comparison to Jude’s.

In the bathroom is a tub that could fit three to four adults.
