Chapter Five

Kincaid came out of his office. Putting his hands on his hips, he frowned at the empty garage. At this time of day, the men should be bustling around working. An engine purred, shattering the silence. He walked over to the doors and rolled his eyes at the men gathered around something out in the parking lot. He spotted Ash’s deep copper hair. It had become a familiar sight at the garage. The men had become used to it, and they teased Ash as if they had known him for years.

The men shifted, and he glimpsed a flash of red metallic paint. Kincaid strode forwards and stopped to looked over the car. It was a sleek Maserati GranTurismo convertible. Kincaid made a sound of appreciation. He walked around the car, shifting past his men, who were also circling it.

Finally, he stopped at the hood. Ash joined him, sliding an arm around his waist. Automatically, he placed his hand on Ash’s waist, cupping his hip. He looked at the face that had become very familiar over the last two months. Ash came by the garage every night as Kincaid was leaving, and they went to his house together. Kincaid had got very friendly with Ellis, who made the food deliveries, and Arnold, who brought Ash his changes of clothing.

“New toy?” “Nope. Had it since I’ve been back. Been keeping it at the ranch. Had to go out there today, and decided to drive it.” Ash smiled.

“We’ll take it to my house.” Kincaid smirked.

“Oh, I thought you were set on driving the bike. And you don’t change your mind when it’s set.” Ash gave him an innocent look.

“This is a special circumstance. Now let’s go.” Kincaid smacked him on the butt.

“Whatever you say.” Ash dangled the keys in front of him.

“You’ll let me drive?” Kincaid raised his eyebrow.

Ash rattled the keys, not answering. Kincaid put his hand over Ash’s and squeezed.

“Nah. You drive us.”

Kincaid ignored his men’s comments about him being crazy not to drive. He went around to the passenger side, pushing them out of the way. Sliding into the car, he made a pleased sound at the soft-as-butter leather seats.

“I promise to have you all over soon to see the rest of my cars,” Ash told the men as he slid into the driver’s seat.

“You better,” Gabe said.

The men moved back as Ash beeped the horn and drove out of the lot.

“Want to go for a drive? Open this baby up?” Ash asked as he turned onto the street.

“Just drive to my house,” Kincaid replied.

“You don’t want to go for a drive?” Ash said.

Kincaid looked over at him. He touched his hand. Ash glanced at him.

“Just want to spend the night on the couch with you. I’ll even cuddle if you want to.” Kincaid sighed loudly.

“You are so full of shit. Don’t think I haven’t noticed that you initiate a lot of the cuddling and hand holding.” Ash’s lips curved into a small smile.

“Always sounding so prissy. ‘Initiate.’ Love the word.
