Arion’s thighs squeezed Gil’s hips tighter. “If you’re playing me…” He let the threat hang in the air, unfinished.

Gil sighed. “Kiss me.”

Arion’s head snapped back as though he’d been slapped. “What?”

“I said, kiss me.”

Of its own accord, Arion’s tongue slid out to wet his suddenly dry lips. “Why?”

Was this some kind of Helir trick? The moment their lips touched, would Gil overwhelm him with stored-up magical reserves? Was he faking the good-will between Elves act?

Did Arion dare find out?

“If I’m going to teach you to control magic, you’ll need to trust me and do as I say.” His full lips curved into a sensual smile that held none of the icy menace Arion expected. “Right now, I want you to kiss me.”

Arion’s heart pounded like a jackhammer against his ribcage. His cock throbbed and slid against Gil’s, reminding him he was the one in control. As long as he was on top, as long as he wielded magic, as long as Gil remained bound -- Gil couldn’t harm him.

And whether Arion liked it or not, Gil was right. Sooner or later, he’d have to trust him enough to follow instructions.

Feathering his fingers beneath the nape of Gil’s neck, Arion used the grip as leverage while he slid up the lean planes and valleys of the other elf’s body. He paused with his mouth a mere inch away from Gil’s.

The elf’s soft breath tickled his lips with a dark, sweet scent Arion couldn’t name.

Before he could reconsider, he closed the remaining distance and covered Gil’s mouth with his.

The moment Gil’s tongue touched the seam of Arion’s lips, his self-control fractured. He gripped Gil’s neck tighter, pulling him closer, angling his head to deepen the kiss.
