Millennial females have higher organizational commitment levels than their male counterparts (33). Thus, managers should consider hiring millennials with graduate degrees and, more specifically, females because of their higher organizational commitment levels. Women understand that they are a marginalized group in the workforce and are committed to keeping their job. Women tend to treat their organization as their extended family and are very committed.
A study from the reverse mentoring programme for boomers and millennials suggests that HRD professionals require to gain an understanding about what motivates and drives today’s multigenerational workforce to work with passion so that organizations can adopt policies and programmes such as reverse mentoring that can help organizations achieve the same (34).
The following five strategies will help you overcome the challenge of managing millennials and raise their productivity (35).
