Camping

Depending on your time constraints, the best way to get from point A to point B might be to travel outdoors by foot. Depending on the route you choose for your escape, it might take a while, and you have to be in reasonably good shape. One route might be the Appalachian Trail in the east because it stretches over 2,000 miles from Georgia to Maine.

This might not be the most appropriate way of getting around for most North American trips, but you might consider it under special circumstances. If this is the method that best suits you, you should probably buy the necessary hiking and camping equipment and do part of your trip in the woods. Even if someone knows you are hiking, it is almost impossible to determine where you got off the trail and switched to another form of transportation.

Hitchhiking is also an option, but few motorists these days pick up people with their thumbs in the air. It is potentially dangerous, not only for the motorist, but also for the hitchhiker. You never know who is going to pick you up or what kind of driver he or she may turn out to be. If you are considering traveling this way, you might want to keep hitchhiking in mind, though.
