“You did? Three hours? My gosh! What did you do to get rid of it? Don’t tell me you stopped along the highway to take care of it.”

“All right, baby. No sex talk tonight. How was your drive so far? Any problems - other than your erection?”

“No, it’s been great so far. I’m thinking I will be on the road by 7 am and drive until about 8 pm. You will be at work tomorrow, but maybe you could call me at your lunch time if you’re free? Just to say hi?”

“Count on it, Hank. I won’t call from the office, but I will call. How are you feeling now that you are away from... here, I guess. Any remorse in leaving the way you are?”

“No. None. I gave that a lot of thought on the drive so far... and, no. Not in leaving Carrie behind, at least. I am regretting leaving you. I probably shouldn’t say that, but I do wish I had spent more time with you. I keep telling myself that there is no way you and I can make up for the time we are losing, but I damned sure want to try at every opportunity we have. Am I saying this too soon for you to hear?”

“You are not. Never think that, Hank. I am feeling pretty much the same way about you, and it puzzles me. Not in a bad way, though. I find myself wishing Carrie had not refused me in the past. I wish I also had that time with you. So... it sounds like we are on the same page. Is that Ok with you?”

“Absolutely. I almost asked you to pack and come with me, you know.”

Sandra laughed again.

“I almost asked if I could go with you... how funny is that? Hank, I don’t fully understand what is happening with us, but I do know I don’t want to lose you. I don’t want to lose what I am feeling for you right now. We’ve only had a couple of days... and... God. Don’t be upset with me, Ok? Let’s give it the time you need, as we discussed, and if you still want me, I will come to you.
