5. After the walls are completely dry, remove the masking tape from any woodwork that was protected. Lightly sand to remove any possible splatters.

6. Using semi-gloss paint, paint the woodwork and windows. When painting the wood windows, use a small 1" brush on the grilles and sashes.

7. Lightly sand the doors to remove any paint splatter or imperfections and wipe them down with a slightly dampened rag.

8. Apply a semi-gloss paint to the doors, using smooth, even strokes. Do not apply too much pressure to the brush and don’t skimp on the paint.

If you really want to get done quickly, you may want to consider a painting party, but leave the party part for after the painting is complete.

If the doors are new, they will need to be sealed prior to being painted. If they are not sealed the grain can open, giving the door an unfinished or damaged look.
