KCET-TV STUDIOS, 2005. Los Angeles Public Broadcasting station KCET moved to East Hollywood in 1971. The studio at 4401 Sunset Boulevard was designated as Historic Cultural Monument No. 198 because it had been a film studio since 1912. National PBS series produced at the studio include Hollywood Television Theater, Visions, Cosmos, and Life and Times. KCET offered tours that included the 1933 screening room, the Little Theater, with its white columns, beamed ceiling, and brick walls.

TRIBUNE STUDIOS, 2004. Originally built by Warner Brothers in 1920 at 5858 Sunset Boulevard, this studio was the Warner Brother’s base until the company moved to a larger studio in Burbank in 1928. The Sunset studio became an annex for shorts, films that are around one to two reels as opposed to the feature film that is at least five reels in length. In 1942, the lot was acquired by Paramount for the television unit KTLA. The main stage behind the administration building was converted into the Hollywood Bowling Lanes in the 1940s. In 1964, Gene Autry purchased KTLA and radio station KMPC, which were housed there. The Tribune Studios hosted such shows as Judge Judy and Hannah Montana.
