Finding the trailhead: From the junction of US 64 and NC 215, drive east on US 64 for 5.4 miles. Turn left onto Cathey’s Creek Road (SR 1401) at the KUYKENDALL CAMP sign and immediately turn left onto SR 1338. Drive approximately 3.6 miles to FR 5361 on the right (0.4 mile past Cathey’s Creek Falls).

From the junction of US 64 and US 276 South, drive west on US 64 for 3.4 miles to a right onto Cathey’s Creek Road (SR 1401) at the KUYKENDALL CAMP sign and follow directions above. (Note: SR 1338 becomes unpaved FR 471.)

The trailhead is at the gate for FR 5361. GPS: N35 13.681' / W82 48.461'
