Chapter Four

Davide coolly moves to Scot, placing himself in between Gray and his angry son, and blocking out the smile Gray has on his face. “Don’t do this. There’s other ways.”

“It’s not that I have to do it, it’s that I want to do it.” Scot shifts to his left and stares at Gray—black eyes clash as they stand stoically in the room. “That’s what you want too, isn’t it?”

Gray straightens his suit jacket, still glaring at Scot. It is what he wanted after all, but that’s how they’ve always resolved things. He doesn’t enjoy the physical brawls they find themselves caught up in, and he would much prefer Scot to simply agree with him and not cause a fuss, but he also understands that’s not the person his son is.

Everyone has been ushered out of the room by Rosso, leaving just the five of them locked in. Gray catches a slow movement from the floor and slides a look at Jamie, still kneeling and looking white. He’s found the presence of mind to at least cover his cock up, but he’s uncomfortable and the men in his life appear to have forgotten their manners.

“We can talk if you wish, Scot.” Gray slips his jacket off, placing it gently around Jamie’s shoulders and pulling it closed over his chest. “Remove yourself from the floor and sit down, little one.”

Scot and Davide react to the endearment by tensing, but Gray doesn’t want to make Jamie feel insecure. He’s heard enough from Alex to understand Jamie found the fact he was alive difficult, but he also knows Jamie’s accepted he isn’t the rapist Conrad made him out to be. Perhaps even looked back at their own trysts together and recalled them as pleasant times, and not as the nights he spent with someone truly evil.

“I always have enjoyed our conversations.” Gray stands up, placing his hands in his pockets and smiling a little less aggravatingly at Scot, watching as Scot and Davide move their attention to Jamie standing beside him.

“Thank you.” Jamie holds the jacket around him, taking a second to glance at him. He still looks slightly off centre, and Gray feels a little of that old possessive streak run through him, which makes him angry because it shouldn’t be him doing this.

“Cheri, let me help.” David strides over to him, holding Jamie’s waist tightly and guiding him to a sofa at the other end of the room, Gray’s large jacket covering him down to his knees and hanging off him comically. “We should all talk, Scot.” Davide flashes a look at his son, a firmness in his eyes which Gray appreciates and is familiar with. It’s nice to see his son still disagrees though, because if he’d just backed down without a fight, it would have infuriated Gray.

“Now’s not the time.” Scot folds his arms over his naked chest, flashing his eyes between his men and Gray.

“No. There never is a right time, is there?” Gray leers at him as he leans against the wall.
