DRS Class 47/8 47802 climbs through Greenholme on 28 July 2006 en route to Carlisle whilst undertaking driver training on passenger trains between Carnforth and Carlisle.

DRS Class 47/8 47810 Peter Bath MBE 1927–2006 works in top ’n tail mode with DRS Class 57/3 57308 County of Staffordshire on 6 July 2014 as they power through Eastwood with a Bradford Interchange–Blackburn shuttle service run in conjunction with the Tour de France cycle race.

An example of multi-ownership is exemplified by Class 47/8 47832 which was operated by First Great Western at Privatisation and owned by the Porterbrook Leasing Company. It was first sold to Fragonset in August 2004 and received Fragonset livery but in August 2007 was operated by Victa Westlink Rail and received that company’s livery. The company only retained the locomotive for a short while before it was bought by DRS in December 2007. When DRS began to withdraw its Class 47/8 fleet on receipt of the Class 68 fleet, 47832 was sold on in 2015 to WCRC which then repainted it into the company’s Maroon livery.

47832 bears the Victa Westlink Rail branding and livery as it passes Clitheroe on 25 August 2007 pilotted by Riviera Trains Class 47/8 47839 Pegasus whilst powering a Holyhead–Carlisle charter.
