“We were real worried about you folks,” the ranch hand said as he grabbed the reins of both horses. “Almost thought we were going to have to send out a search party for ya.”

“Storm came up fast,” Savage answered as he reached for her. “Found one of the old caves to shelter in.”

Georgia wasn’t ready for anyone to know they were together, much less had carnal sex in the middle of a dark cave. She gave him a heated smile but kept her distance, a moment of clarity setting in. They would have to talk about what occurred between them to a more significant degree. Even though she understood exactly what he’d been alluding to, she had no real answers as to the possibility of anything in the future. Could she allow her guard to fall enough to indulge in her greatest fantasy?

“Yeah, caught a few of the guests off guard,” the ranch hand snorted. “A couple of quick rescues had to be made. The old caves? They’re pretty dangerous. Had a bunch of rockfall activity over the last couple of years.” He lifted his eyebrow.

“I know the area. I killed a coyote while we were up there. Just so you know.” Savage issued the words as if the event was no big deal.

The ranch hand seemed surprised. “Okay. Good to know and I’ll alert Mr. Marshall. Coyotes and even bears have been real bad this year. Sorry you were forced to do that. Gun or knife?”

“You would have heard a gunshot,” Savage answered and nodded toward the door.

“Yeah, I guess I would have.” The ranch hand gave them both a quick glance before leading the horses away.

She sensed Savage bristling, ready to take on the employee. Gripping his shoulder, she was surprised when he instantly relaxed. “We should go.”

“Yeah,” Savage answered. “I’ll drive. I’ll bring you back here in the morning.”

For some odd reason, she didn’t argue with him. He’d taken full control and she felt safe, even honored by his action. “Okay.” She was surprised when he opened her door, getting her settled into the passenger seat of his truck.

After he was inside, the door closed, he leaned over. Even the simplest actions reeked of absolute domination. “Okay?”

Were his eyes twinkling or was he serious? “Yes, sir.”

“Better.” He started the engine, darting a series of looks in her direction before driving away from the corral.

The rain had all but stopped, yet the dark clouds remained, creating an almost eerie fog surrounding the ranch. She was happy, content and didn’t want the moment they’d shared to end. But she had no understanding of the man as of yet, only his manly needs. She bit back a smile as he drove. Unable to resist, she placed her hand on his thigh, rubbing up and down, inching closer to his groin.

“Ummm… Better hold on, little lady or I might feast on you again.”

“And I would mind exactly why?” A deep blush crested along her jawline and she wanted to pepper him with questions, to find out everything about him.
