Plummeting to His Death

Dykerk felt himself going round and round in circles, huge circles, as the creature plummeted towards the ground. Within these huge circles, Dykerk found himself rolling round and round in smaller circles within her claws.

He and the creature plummeted faster and faster until it seemed as though they were out of control. Then swoosh! The creature flew back towards the top of the sky, cawing loudly in triumph.

Dykerk, somehow found a new purchase – one where he could look around and see his surroundings. There was no enemy that he could see. Nor was there a mate or prey.

Then he felt himself being pressed towards the top of the surrounding claws, as they plummeted towards the ground again, the creature giving up all resistance to gravity.

Surely they would die this time. The last time had been controlled in comparison to this. Perhaps the creature had died. Perhaps, ...

Then swoosh and back up towards the top of the sky. Somehow they were going up faster than they had come down.

Again, there was that caw of triumph.
