More often than not, he threatens to leave you whenever you’re in the middle of a relationship conflict.

Whether it’s a man or a woman, if one person in a relationship is constantly intimidating the other with threats of leaving, it’s a flashing warning sign that something is seriously wrong. I can’t imagine a self-possessed woman with a strong sense of identity and personal confidence falling prey to this form of treatment, but unfortunately, this sort of situation is common for a lot of women.

Threatening someone that you’re going to leave the relationship is nothing short of manipulation. If a guy constantly does this to you in the midst of your lovers’ quarrels, it’s clear that he’s more interested in getting his way with you than solving any relationship issues. This is especially true if he’s trained you to succumb to his will by threatening to blow up the relationship.

What this sort of manipulation should tell you is that he’s not really that interested making you happy, which therefore means he’s not interested in a mature and loving relationship. It’s a major red flag if a man clearly communicates that he can easily walk away from you without so much as a second thought. It shouldn’t matter to you if he’s bluffing or not. The mere fact that he has the audacity to use such intimidation to keep you hooked on him should cause you to re-evaluate your choice in men.

Don’t make someone your world when you’re clearly just an option. And don’t stick around, walking on eggshells with a man that might be one argument away from breaking your heart. As a woman, this is perhaps one of the fastest ways to deplete your self-esteem and surrender your dignity to a man.
