This tunnel is where the majority of paranormal activity is reported.

There is an urban legend that has sprouted up over the years having to do with the explosion of one of the old fourteen-inch guns killing numerous soldiers. The legend has these men wandering the tunnels in and around the fort. The closest thing to this ever happening was an incident that occurred down the coast at Bluff Park. According to the staff at Fort Mac, in that incident, only one person was killed and one wounded, but again, this was not at the location of the museum today.

One of the unique aspects of this paranormal location is the frequent report of spectral dogs. Many people who come here and wander the grounds say that they see dogs running around as if traversing an obstacle course. It is believed that these animals are the heroes that are buried in the K-9 cemetery next to the front gate. Some of these dogs have even been known to come up to museum patrons as if they want to be petted. They always vanish as guests reach out their hands, startling more than one unwary person, to be sure.
