Chapter 15

Malik Zarifa walked down the aisle of the coach and stood over Abdul Mansour's seat.

“Brother, we are being followed, just as you predicted. It is the woman I saw at the mosque.”

“Are you sure it is her?” Mansour asked.

“I am certain. As we left I saw her parked nearby and the same blue Fiat has been behind us since.”

“Are there any other vehicles following?”

“I have seen none.”

“Okay, thank you, Malik.” Mansour got up and spoke to the driver, instructing him to pull into the lay-by that was coming up. When they parked up he watched the Fiat continue past and told the driver to open the door. He climbed out and strode to the Nissan waiting for him, and the driver wound down the window.

“We are being followed by a blue Fiat,” Mansour told the driver. “Drive ahead and check the next junction to see if it is waiting for us.”

The Nissan pulled off and Mansour pondered the situation. If it was just this woman following, she would be waiting ahead for them to pass by. If there were others following, she would be called off and another car would take her place.

The Nissan returned twenty minutes later, having driven to the next junction, then back to the previous junction before completing the circuit back to its starting point.

“The car is waiting at the overpass,” the driver told him. “There is a single passenger, a woman.”

“Very well. When the coach sets off, wait three minutes then follow it. The driver will lead her to a secluded area and I want her captured alive. We need to know what she knows.”

The driver nodded and Mansour walked back to the coach, checking his watch. He climbed aboard and told everyone to disembark, and as they did he gave instructions to the driver. When the last person climbed off, the coach driver set off and Mansour and his men only had to wait a couple of minutes before the other bus arrived. As they boarded, Mansour watched the Nissan set off and they followed a minute later, turning off the dual carriageway at the next junction.
