Search for photos

Go to www.gettyimages.co.uk. Type your search keywords into the window. Use keywords that narrow your search to find the best image for your topic.

Selecting

Browse through the thumbnails of matched images. If you don’t see any you like, change your keyword selection. For example, you’ll get more specific results from the phrase “skiing alpine” than “skiing.”

Previewing

Once you find a great image, click on it to enlarge your view. It will open in a preview window that provides prices, file sizes and rights information. Prices for royalty-free images depend on the size of the file. The cost is usually less for digital uses that will likely be smaller, lo-res files. For printing, the cost will be more expensive for the larger, high-resolution files.
