Family commitments limited our summer cruise to discover the Dutch Frisian Islands and inland sea to a strict two-week timetable. We just didn’t have enough time to sit around and wait for the right ‘weather window’ for the long bash across the North Sea, and set out from Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight running before a rain-laden Force 4 to overnight in Brighton marina.
