HELP ME TO WAIT

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

PSALM 27:14 KJV

Lord, I never thought waiting on You would take such courage and patience. It does! Waiting isn’t my strong suit, and it underscores just how impatient I am. Like a child staring down a crowded street, anticipating the parade to begin, I struggle to stand quietly on Your promises and wait for answers to my prayers.

Your Word tells me that You will strengthen my heart as I wait on You. I guess that waiting serves a purpose beyond what I can see at this moment. All I see is what I don’t see, while You visualize what will happen as a result of me patiently enduring and faithfully trusting You. Cause me to keep my eyes on You rather than on my circumstances, Lord. Help me to wait. Amen.
