Chapter 5: Cultural Dimensions

This chapter discusses concepts Donny Huang uses in his WordPass Cultural Assessment, which is used to measure cultural differences. Donny also finds this helps people to develop cultural self-awareness, and to reconcile and capitalize on the cultural differences. All cultural dimension concepts are based on the research of Dutch scholars Geert Hoftsede and Fons Trompenaars, except the Equal and Contextual dimension, which is intended to describe Chinese who often treat insiders and outsiders in vastly different ways.
