Chapter 9
Galina
My eyes widen as his meaning sinks in. "Fly? You mean... with you? Is it... safe? What if you drop me? I just became corporeal again. I do not want to be a big red splat on the ground."
Xander tips his head back and laughs. The sound is so infectious that I can't help the twitch of my lips.
"I would never drop you, my little wraith," he vows, returning his gaze to me.
No, he would not. I see the words he does not say in his eyes. He would rather lose a wing than risk my welfare.
Xander's arms tighten around me, and his chest muffles my muted scream as he leaps up. My hands scramble over his shirt, trying to get a good grip, even though I know he won't let me fall.
I wrap my legs around his waist as he carries me over the forest, tilting my head back cautiously. He picks up speed, tilting our angle so my back is to the forest, and my vision is filled with him. His mane ripples in the wind, a golden waterfall of silken fur.
Wonderment unfurls in my chest as Xander flies higher until we're surrounded by the cerulean blue skies and puffy white clouds. My parted lips slowly curve into a smile, and a bolt of energy ricochets through me, pending through my blood, quickening my heart, and making my pussy pulse.
I allow my head to loll back, baring my neck and pushing my breasts up. I extend my arms to the side as if I were the one flying. A low husky laugh escapes me before the wind sweeps it away. I do not recall much of my life before, but I am sure I have never felt so free, so alive.
Xander changes direction abruptly, causing me to gasp. He flies faster and faster, pumping his wings until all I can hear is the rushing in my ears, and all I can feel is his large body pressed against mine. His eyes burn into mine as we fly, and something profound passes between us, two old souls reconnecting after an eternity.
Too soon, Xander slows and begins to descend until we land gently in a small clearing. We stand there for an endless moment, both seemingly reluctant to move away from the other. My hair is a wild, windswept tangle around my face, and my cheeks are warm with excitement.
My legs are still around Xander's waist, his hands gripping my hips. I moan as he presses his long, thick length between my thighs.
"You need something from me, Galina?" he growls.
I can only nod because my tongue is stuck to the roof of my mouth.
"Need your words, little wraith."
"Yes," I croak.
"Fuck, yeah, you do," he rasps.
He backs me against a tree and ducks his head to mine. When our lips meet, itâs a violent thing, a storm of emotion. I gasp into his mouth, and he groans, digging his talons into the flesh of my hips. He devours me, stroking his tongue across mine until I am clinging to him.
