#26. Can I shop for a mortgage on the Internet?

An increasing number of savvy home buyers are seeking home loans on the Internet. Over a billion dollars in home loans are already flowing through Internet channels. There are several home mortgage sites on the Internet that offer different levels of service. Here are a few of the better sites to check:

E-Loan at www.eloan.com. E-Loan offers mortgages from sixty lenders to home buyers in thirty-nine states. They will handle the entire transaction online and with Federal Express for document delivery.

QuickenMortgage at www.quickenmortgage.com. Intuit offers a service that lets you compare rates and terms with eleven national lenders. If you select one of the lenders, you work with that lender to close the loan.

MSN Real Estate at www.realestate.msn.com. This is Microsoft’s new service, which is similar to Intuit’s service. Its aim is to become an overall home-buying service.
