It was the middle of the day outside, the sun wonderful on my skin. I was surprised by my own smile, it felt like the first genuine one in awhile. But, truly, I was light on my feet, and in my heart.

Hintur gave me a shove, my kneels quaking as I fell forward. Luckily, he also caught me by the back of my tunic, keeping me from sprawling in the mud. “Relax,” he snarled in my ear, his breath hot. “This is what you have to deal with, it's our only option, boy.”

Pushed forward, I found the stocks a mere foot away, the shackles glinting in the light. With great effort, I found my voice, turning and trying to shove past Hintur. “N-no! No, I won't, I can't, stop this! Please!”

If he felt any compassion, he didn't show it. Grabbing my wrists, he spun me around, slamming me into the device so hard it robbed my lungs of air. Struggling to breathe, I felt him clamp my hands into place. He kicked my ankles apart, imprisoning them as well, so that in the end I was kneeling, my wrists and head in the holes of the wooden plank like I was a bird in mid flight.

I was vulnerable, trapped, and unable to escape.

The barbarians gathered around, their smirks sharp as they observed my predicament. My nerves were on edge, knowing that though I wore something to cover myself, it couldn't last long.

I was correct when Hintur stepped up behind me, sliding his hand along my hamstring, hiking the tunic over my waist. The men cheered, my ass and scrotum displayed for their entertainment.

“Please don't do this,” I begged.

“Silence, boy,” he answered coldly, his palm coming down hard to slap my rear. It made me yelp, but the blush was worse. Being shamed like this in public was unlike anything I could have conceived of, yet here it was, happening and quickly spiraling out of control.

“Men, this little whore has begged me to take him as my own.”

The crowd gave mixed cries, some laughing, some scowling at the concept. Hintur pressed on, gripping my behind so roughly he was leaving finger prints. “To make this fair, I've decided to allow you all to watch me use him here, as you please, until you're satisfied with the situation.”

Looking up, I spotted the sneers, and then a familiar face.

Chief Tarlow.

He watched stoically from the door of his tent, his green eyes solemn, his mouth a hard line.
