Freak

“Look who decided to show up!” Switch shouts when I step into the clubhouse. I flip him off and give him a smirk, heading toward the bar. I’m going to need more than a drink to deal with Linny today. She called the other day but hadn’t showed up until now. I was hoping that she wouldn’t come at all.

“Where is she?” I ask as I pour a glass of whiskey. I swallow it down before filling it up once more.

“In the office with Grave.”

“She’s lookin’ damn good, too,” Preacher adds. I flip his ass off, not wanting to hear that shit.

“Don’t fuckin’ touch her,” I remind him.

“She ain’t off-limits,” he says playfully. Like fuck she’s not. I cut my eyes at him and he laughs harder. Bastard.

“Seen that girl come in here,” Jasper says, strolling toward us. I nod my head, take down the whiskey, and grab the joint from behind my ear.

“Not good, brother. Not good at all,” I tell him.

“Heard that. Watch your ass with that, Freak. She ain’t here for sibling love, that much I can say.” I know what Jasper told me about her. I hate to say it, but I think he’s right. She hasn’t been around in years and now all of a sudden, she wants to stay here? Jasper told me that Linny was a thief of the worst kind and whored herself around the club way back when. He also said that it wasn’t just our club which is the part that worries me the most.

“I don’t think so either, brother.” He nods at me once and walks toward the back while I smoke my joint. Each puff calms my nerves a little but in the back of my mind there is already too much shit going on. I’m worried about Trina even though I shouldn’t be. She isn’t mine. She belongs to Ash, but after spending time with her, I’m not so sure she actually wants to be with him.

“You okay?” Preacher asks, coming to stand next to me. I shake my head, running my hand through my hair before pulling the joint from my lips.

“No.”

“About your sister?”

“Everything, Preacher. I don’t know what the fuck is goin’ on with me.”

“The girl?” I nod my head. “You got a thing for her?”

“I don’t know what I got. I liked spendin’ time with her but she ain’t one of us,” I remind him.

“Neither was I, nor was Loralai.” I hear Silla come up behind me. I turn to face her, her eyes as bright as ever.

“Not the same thing.”

“How so?” she asks, cocking her hip out and resting her hand on it. If Grave wasn’t already attached at the hip to this one, she would make a good old lady.

“She’s with a different MC.”

“What?” Silla looks at me funny.

“I don’t think she’s actually an old lady. I think they were just fuck buddies,” I add. Silla nods and looks like she’s thinking it over before she shrugs.

“I don’t see the problem.”

“Of course you don’t, killer,” Preacher says, pissing her off.
