They played until it was time to head up to dinner. Olivia was the big winner, but Jamie held her own. She had definitely been out of her comfort zone, though. She thought about what Axel had said about control and risk. A born card shark she was not, but maybe she could try to lighten up her grip. Maybe she didn’t always need to stay in complete control. Heaven knew, it was exhausting. She mulled it over as the dinner conversation flowed around her.

Epic was the culinary pinnacle, both literally and figuratively, of DeGrasso’s empire. Thanks to Layla, Jamie had managed to get a last minute reservation at the rooftop restaurant for the eight-course tasting menu. Tables were booked out months in advance. Apparently, it paid to know the owner.

They ‘oohed’ and ‘aahed’ over beautifully prepared small plates, and gushed when the chef came to the table. He’d been halfway smitten by the time he headed back to his kitchens, especially after talking organically sourced jams and preserves with Olivia. She had promised to send him samples, and he sent out a few extra courses to sweeten the deal.

When Jamie discretely asked for the check, she was told that their dinner had been comped by Layla as well. She was stunned. She certainly hadn’t expected that, but she wasn’t going to argue either. After all, Layla certainly owed her for tonight. Or she would in a few short hours.

They had just enough time to make the late show of the highly acclaimed circus troupe. Jamie had made sure to get tickets to the raciest of their shows. After all, this was a bachelorette party. As darkness fell over the theater, nearly naked bodies in skin colored leotards began to contort and glide through the air, mimicking all manner of sexual acts. While her mind boggled at the acts of physical strength and balance, Jamie could feel her body heat rising in response to the subtext. Watching the talented performers, she couldn’t help but become aroused. She could feel it in the atmosphere around her, too. The entire theater was spellbound and turned on. Jamie pulled her focus inward on her own reaction to the show, a rich budding desire. The show was beautiful, and erotic, and the perfect prelude to the next act of the night.
