8.3.4 Vitamins

Vitamins and minerals are recognized as vital nutritional components as they assist the body perform hundreds of processes, including bone and cellular restoration, wound healing, food transformation to energy, and immune system strengthening. To do all the above functions body takes the help of at least 30 vitamins, minerals, and dietary components that need to be taken through diet as the body is unable to produce it (Harvard, 2021). In people that have a history of prediabetes or diabetes, the inclusion of vitamins in the diet offers more benefits compared to normal people, the type of vitamin and quantity does have a significant role in diabetes management.
