Chapter 5

ROXY

She had thought about doing this for a long time, of course, but like she told Jeanette, letting go and doing what felt good wasn’t always easy when a woman had a few hang-ups.

I could never treat her as an inconsequential partner of the night. Roxy wasn’t proud of it, but once upon a time, that was how she treated most of her dates. They were women to have fun with, nothing more. Whatever they wanted? She could deliver, because it was nothing to her. A woman could ask to be called the most demeaning things and Roxy felt not a drop of embarrassment or shame. A date could crawl on all fours and brush her cheek against Roxy’s leg like a kitty cat. Same difference.

Then Jeanette showed up and changed everything.

What Jeanette didn’t understand so well was that the old Roxy, who wasn’t afraid to fulfill the submissive fantasies of all flavors, wasn’t the same Roxy who put a ring on her wife’s finger. She wasn’t sure she wanted to be the same woman!

“I love you.” Roxy cupped Jeanette’s face, thumb rubbing against a soft bottom lip. While it wasn’t a favorite of Roxy’s, the pickings were slim that night – and the VIP area rooms were definitely not available, since some actress and her entourage were having a party. Roxy knew this wasn’t about her personal fantasy, though. This was about her wife, who already smiled in anticipation. “You know I’ll give you whatever you want. I’m sorry I haven’t been paying attention to you lately.”

“I know you love me…” Jeanette looked away, the slightest bit of color touching her cheek. “I mean, I love you too. One of the reasons I love you so much is because you were never afraid to be who you were. I could tell that about you when we met. Why do you think I not only dragged you out on a date, but I kissed you that first time?”

“That’s a bold retelling of events.
