“Direct hit!” screamed Lance from the trees, punching the air with his fist! “Now’s our chance! Rush the cabin! No mercy! Tear it apart and burn it to the ground!”

He leaped from the trees, Paul and Leonard close behind, charging out into the clearing, weapons lifted.

“Rush them!” Ben screamed from his right, popping off shots with his semi-automatic. Leonard opened up with his FN FAL, drilling bullets into the swirling, swarming smoke, bellowing from the opened door of the cabin, obscuring everything within. Candles had tipped over in the windows, and for the first time, Lance noticed that part of the wooden wall of the cabin had caught fire, yellow and orange flame crawling lazily up the outer wall of the ramshackle structure. Smoldering chunks of grenade fragments had ignited a torn-up carpet as well and flames were starting to slowly emerge along the floor and porch.

Lance hesitated by the tree line, holding his AR-15 with one hand while he pointed an extended finger toward the cabin.

“NSG! Strike now! No prisoners—”

“Funny, I was thinking the same thing.”

Lance turned to his left, his eyes widening at the strange voice. In the low, orange light of the crackling flames along the surface of the cabin, Lance could make out a dark-skinned figure lunging toward him. He was moving fast and silent, slipping from the trees, and in his hand seemed to be a…
