"WHAT THE FUCK EMMA!?!"

Jason's pudgy, round face was all screwed up and he was looking extra pale in the street lights next to the club. It was late. The bars and clubs were starting to close. People were starting to leave in big groups and the bouncers weren't letting new people inside.

Jason had been waiting outside, again, for at least another hour. Maybe longer. He looked at the text on his phone again. Head buzzing, fist clinched, he couldn't believe what was happening. What did Emma mean that she'd "Gotten a ride from a friend"? What friend? Was this a sick joke? Was she that hammered? And more importantly had he really just spent another hour outside this fucking club, with all those assholes, waiting for her drunk ass?

As he stormed back to his car, Jason was afraid that he was going to yank the driver’s side door off the car.

He didn't, of course. And soon he was veering back onto the highway in a state of dangerous panic he hadn't felt in a very long time.
