Later, after all the interviews and phone calls (none from the President), Fred called for a pow-wow to discuss business with Vanessa, Arneda and Griffin in Arneda’s hotel room.

They had food delivered, desiring some time to meet away from the public eye. They come under a big spotlight all of a sudden. Paparazzi were actually waiting outside the Marriott and Four Seasons looking for more pics of Jeremy Moreau and Vanessa Owens.

Fred told them he learned TNZ had footage of Jeremy with his arm around Vanessa leaving a bar. The story was going to report the couple went to Jeremy’s hotel down the street.

“They really have us hooked up, ha-ha-ha, that’s so funny,” Vanessa said. “I saw a few guys out there with camcorders and cameras taking pics of us. Jeremy started cursing at them. I thought they weren’t so bad. I mean you gotta make a living somehow.”

“It’s not true, you and Jeremy, is it honey?” Arneda asked, looking worried.

“Whether it’s true or not, that’s what people believe. I don’t care. It’s free publicity,” Vanessa said, looking over at Fred and then Griffin, who was watching EPSN, waiting for SportCenter to begin.

“That’s my girl!” Fred said. “I’m glad you’re seeing how the system operates. This high profile publicity is hard to get. This is how you make your brand.”

“Yeah, but Vanessa, I don’t like the fact you might be dishonest with what’s going on with your heart towards someone,” Arneda said.

“Jeremy and I are friends,” Vanessa said, looking at her mother. “Just like I said in the interview, I like him. He’s a very interesting guy.”

“What about that guy, Menace?” Fred asked.

“That dude is load-ed. Roz, Tracy, and I were invited into his private tour bus that he, Jeremy and Adam rode here in. It’s rockin’ a Jacuzzi in it,” Vanessa said.

“Oh, so that’s what he was telling me,” Arneda said. “He asked me if I want to ride back to L.A. in his Jacuzzi.”

“Go ‘head, Mom. It sounds like Menace was trying to crack on you. You should’ve went for it. Dude, got some serious paper.”

That grabbed Griffin’s attention. He turned to look at Arneda to gauge her reaction. It appeared unlikely she would entertain hooking up with the famous rapper, but Griffin found himself bristling at the news someone had made the moves on her.

“They’re traveling back now,” Vanessa said. “Jeremy texted me a little while ago. So Mom, you missed your chance, ha-ha.”

“No, I don’t think so, heh,” Arneda said. “Not my type.” She looked at Griffin.

“Tracy told me Adam Claypoole asked her out to a movie premiere next weekend. Maybe Menace can take you, Mom.”

“I hope I’m gonna be with you next weekend in Cincinnati.”

“I’m glad you brought that up,” Fred said. “Tangee has the three of you booked on a flight tomorrow morning to Cincinnati. And I just found out who your first round opponent is gonna be.”

“Who?” Griffin asked.

“Lia Mandlikova.”

“The bigger they are,” Vanessa said.

“The harder they fall,” Fred said.

“Timberrrrrr,” everyone chimed in.
