Chapter Nineteen

I hit the punching bag one last time before deciding I was done for the day. The gym in this house was the nicest one I’d been in. It had everything. Cardio equipment, weights, and even a boxing ring. There was an indoor pool in the room next to the gym and a sauna. If I wasn’t trapped here, it would actually be an amazing house to live in.

Ryker finished his workout and joined me as I drank the rest of my water. His blond hair was disheveled, and his black shirt was wet with sweat. But he still looked like a wet dream. I could appreciate how he looked, but he wasn’t what I wanted. Apparently, I had a thing for the dark and broody type. Seriously wished I could change that.

“What are we doing today?” I asked, tossing my empty water bottle into my bag.

It had been two days since Ky kissed me. He kept his word about not touching me again. In fact, I’d barely seen him. Ryker told me he was busy with business, but I had a feeling he was avoiding me. Which was completely fine. It was easier to keep my twisted feelings from pushing through if he wasn’t around.

“Don’t know,” Ryker answered while wiping sweat from his forehead. “Probably hanging out at the pool. Not like we have anything else to do until Jensen gets back.”

The pool outside was gorgeous. It had a waterfall and a hot tub on the side. There was a cabana and lounge chairs surrounding one side and a grilling area on the other side. Today was a perfect day to relax and work on my nonexistent tan.

“I’m going to shower and get lunch,” I told him. I left the gym and started the long journey back to my room, which was on the other side of the house. This place was huge. I would have gotten lost a dozen times if I was ever alone. But like now, one of them was always lurking behind me.

They didn’t trust me at all. Not that I blamed them. Ky knew how badly I wanted to get away from here. I would take any chance to do it. Damn what Jensen had told me. He was going to hurt me anyway, no point in waiting around for it.

I flipped Ryker off before shutting the door in his face. Stripping off my clothes, I left them strewn on the floor as I went into the bathroom and turned on the shower. A few bobby pins littered the countertop and I smiled. Tonight, I planned on using them. The only time I was alone was at night. I was going to pick my lock and see if I could get the hell out of here.
