Chapter 33

Camryn

My best friend was gone. Missing. Without a trace. And I couldn’t help but think that I only had myself to blame for this.

I should’ve trusted my gut when I had been hesitant about leaving her in the van in the first place. I should’ve insisted that we bring her with us...

But I hadn’t done any of that, and now, as a result, Blair was gone.

“Who could have taken her?” Mila asked.

“I don’t know,” I replied, shaking my head. “I haven’t even seen anyone in the area. I thought we were all alone.”

“So, somehow, someone managed to sneak past us all and took Blair. That doesn’t seem suspicious at all,” Ace said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

“What are you saying?” Elias asked, eyeing him curiously.

“Oh, you know. Just that when I think of who could possibly be responsible for this, only one name comes to mind.”

“Dominique,” I pieced together.

“Bingo,” Ace replied.

“We have to get to her house. ASAP.” There was a sense of urgency in Elias’s voice as he spoke.

I couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. It would hurt all of us if Blair died. I would be lost without my best friend. But in some ways, Elias stood to lose more than all of us. Not only would he lose Blair, the girl he loved, but he would die, too.

“Okay, Mila and I will follow you,” Jonah said.

“I’ll come with you guys,” I volunteered.

I wasn’t entirely sure if Ace was right. I didn’t know if Dominique really did have Blair. I didn’t know how she could’ve gotten her without the rest of us noticing or what she was planning to do with her.

But if any of us could figure it out, it was Mila with her psychic visions. And one thing was for sure.

I wasn’t about to let her out of my sight.
