Chapter 10

Mike leaned down and easily nabbed her purse, passing the surprisingly heavy thing to her. He moved slowly as she’d instructed, but also because his dick was so hard he couldn’t move quickly. Too painful even in dress pants.

And then he just stood there, his body thrumming with hunger while he watched her. What was the woman up to? She’d already surprised him a couple times tonight. Few women would let him fondle her in public like this--even in a dark alley. Those that would usually fell into the flaky, adrenaline seekers.

But she wasn’t like that. Despite her gossip-girl leanings, she was always in control, using her anecdotes and her flamboyant stories to distract people. It was her way of being part of the party without actually becoming vulnerable to it.

He recognized the need even if he didn’t make the same choices. Which made it doubly surprising when she’d let him press her against a wall, undress her, and make her come. He’d seen the struggle in her, the moments when she chose to trust him. That had not only surprised him, but it had exponentially ramped up his desire for her.

But now she was asking for the same trust back from him. She was seeing if he could be just as vulnerable to her as she’d been to him. The choice wasn’t as easy as it seemed. She was amazing and he wanted her with a fierceness that shook him. But surrendering to anyone wasn’t in his nature. And yet for some reason, he obeyed her.

Even as doubts whirled through his mind--can he trust her? will he give over to her?--he didn’t move from his spot facing her in the dark alcove. Plus, he was intensely curious about her fantasy. What was his Latino siren doing while he struggled with his manly need to not surrender to anyone? She was calmly opening her purse and rooting through it until she came up with a gold tube of lipstick.

Seriously?

She smiled at him, handed back her purse which he deposited in its spot, and then with slow, deliberate movements, she applied dark red lipstick to her lips.

Okay, so that was a lot more erotic than he expected. He’d never been big on make up, and lipstick was more likely to be a turn-off than anything else. Who liked kissing that crap? But as she opened her mouth to apply the red, he saw the dark, moist interior and thoughts of dirty things to do to that mouth sprang to mind. Then she tilted her head back slightly to coat her upper lip, and he caught a flash of white teeth. Somehow that was even more erotic--the flash of danger--right behind her glistened red lips.

Then she finished and her smile grew darker. “What’s the answer, sweetie?”

He tilted his head. “Was there a question?”

She grinned. “A great many, but for now…” She gestured to her cream pants. “These are expensive clothes. Dry clean only. I’m about to kneel in front of you, but if you get too enthusiastic, then they’re going to get dirty.
