‘Jolly good.’ Lord Fortescue nodded and as he moved to rise, the whole group stood together.

Margot could not think about the idea of taking a ride with Lord Fortescue and Daisy. Having not been in the company of Doctor Jennings for over a week, her mind had been quite battered with the myriad of thoughts that plagued her. Truly, the last thing she wished for, was to be forced into making polite conversation or having to listen to Daisy wittering on and fawning over Lord Fortescue with her utter drivel and lack of etiquette. Daisy had been invited to stay at the Kenilworth Manor because really, her mother had felt sorry for her. On top of that, her mother had wished for Margot to have some company. Yet, over the past weeks, Margot had had quite enough of having to shoulder the responsibility of both keeping Daisy busy and covering her faux pas. With all the thoughts of Radcliffe and her upcoming marriage and the heartache of her feelings toward Doctor Jennings, she did not want to be around anybody at that moment, and it suddenly occurred to her, that she must get herself out of the situation.
